"A reliable place to stay in Shanghai"
A decent and consistently comfortable place to stay in Shanghai.
Good views, reasonable western food [especially the Pizza in the Italian Restaurant ] and a good location with the bars and restaurants of the French Concession nearby.
"Good value and comfortable"
Very satisfied with this hotel for the money. I would certainly give it a go next time around. Comfortable with adequate and solid facilities. The staff were very polite and helpful. Only issue was the air conditioning - we struggled, but it may have been my fault.
Recently stayed here for one night stop over on business. It's away from the main tourist area so you will have to take a taxi but they are very cheap and plentiful.
Provided a high up room which had a superb view over the city. Room was excellent and a good size. Well stocked mini bar if you are looking for that type of stuff and free Wi-Fi.
Though I didn't have time to use it I had a look and the top floor swimming pool looked great.
Excellent choice of food for breakfast and services throughout the hotel was generally good.
Some nice restaurants around the hotel if you are prepared to walk and have some local knowledge.
"Good business hotel"
I have stayed here a few times on business. Convenient location, as our company office is in the same building (hotel lobby, restaurant and conference rooms on lowest floors, then commercial offices, gym/pool on 26th floor and then bedrooms all the way up to 53rd floor!). Use their limo from the airport (not cheap at 750RMB) and you get express check-in. Rooms are large and comfortably furnished, with massive bathroom (full size bathtub and separate rainfall shower cubicle). Swimming pool is a must - 30m pool with "infinity" views over Shanghai, but do not forget a hat. Breakfast buffet is substantial, with western and Asian foods. Do not usually have dinner here, as there are lots of good local restaurants close by (much cheaper). Not so close to tourist sites, e.g. 4 miles to the Bund, but taxis are cheap and plentiful (25RMB to the Bund) except when it rains and everyone wants one.
"Excelllent Business Hotel"
Perfect, virtually invisible room service and probably one of the best breakfasts on record. The Longemont's location may be a bit awkward and perhaps not the best for the tourists and family travellers. However, it may suit well business people, especially if their partners are located in the vicinity. The Longemont is one of the best hotels in Shanghai and offers probably best value for money. It is impeccably manged by German staff. I have no hesitation recomending this hotel to all business travellers.
"Best kept secret"
Very good and consistent. Stayed there twice and will my third in a few weeks. Contrary to a review I read I loved the Italian restaurant, Breakfast buffet in the morning and the lobby bar. It's not exactly cheap though. In all it's the hotel of my choice for business.
